ABOUT US
The OVERALL project was created by Ukrainian PR expert and a modern art lover Anastasiia Bratkova at the beginning of 2020 when the COVID pandemic broke out. By combining fashionable clothing designs with paintings by Ukrainian artists, the author aimed to restore the public demand for art that had been lost during the lockdowns. At the same time, an important task for the brand's team was to popularize Ukrainian contemporary art abroad and introduce the tradition of copyright. This is how the first collection of unisex overalls by OVERALL with paintings by incredible Ukrainian artists appeared: Oleksandr Roitburd, Roman Minin, Vasyl Tsagolov, Alina Pivnenko and others.
In order to support the country's young artists, in the summer of 2021, the OVERALL team launched the Wear Ukrainian Art project, which began the brand's collaboration with 12 Ukrainian artists from around the world. In September of that year, OVERALL was presented in Berlin during Berlin Art Week, after which the collection appeared on the shelves of the legendary Bikini Berlin.
In February 2022, a few weeks before the russia's full-scale invasion, OVERALL presented a collection of jewelry and belts in collaboration for the first time with Zigura Art sculptors.
On August 24, 2022, on the Independence Day of Ukraine, the author of OVERALL presented a large-scale land art project "Peaceful Sky" by Ukrainian sculptor Mykyta Zigura in a wheat field in Denmark. The image of the 80-meter shadow of the world's largest airplane, the Ukrainian An-225 Mriya, symbolized the victory of life over death and reminded Europeans of the current reality, a threat that Westerners can see just in the news.
In October 2022, the brand presented its collection at Brussels Fashion Week in Brussels, combining printed clothes from contemporary artists of Ukraine (Olexander Roitburd, Vasyl Tsagolov, Viktor Sydorenko, Roman Minin and others) with real military balaclavas and gas masks, a symbol of the horrors of war.
In the second year of the full-scale war, OVERALL began collaborating with Volodymyr Mandzhos, known as WaOne, a painter, sculptor and former member of one of the world's most famous street art duos Interesni Kazki. The face of this collaboration was the famous German stylist and activist Frank Peter Wilde, who wore a wedding dress from the new collection.
