The painting "Farewell, Caravaggio!" — the embodiment of the spirit of postmodernism and the first work from the "Roitburd vs Caravaggio" series. The artist wrote it after the theft of Caravaggio's painting "Kiss of Judas, or Arrest of Christ" from the Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art in 2008. Playing with the classics, shifting semantic accents, bright abstraction against the background of the eternal plot and realistic painting of the 17th century. In 2009, "Farewell, Caravaggio!" bought at the London auction of Phillips de Pury & Co. for a record sum for Ukrainian painting at that time — $97,000.
